Calstock School are looking to recruit a caring and committed person to work as a general classroom teaching assistant. The successful candidate must enjoy being part of a team, be flexible, willing to adapt to changing situations and be committed to further training and skill acquisition. 

Sensitivity, patience and an ability to work on your own initiative are necessary qualities, as well as the ability to work as part of our effective and caring team.

This post is suitable for experienced candidates who are confident in supporting pupils in class. Familiarity with the EYFS curriculum and the Read, Write Inc. Phonics programme would be helpful but not essential.

Hours would be Monday to Friday (all day) 9.00am to 3.15pm.

The role will also include helping to supervise pupils during lunchtime break.  This will include assisting with their lunch and supervising play activities/games in the playground at lunchtime.

The successful candidate should have good communication skills, a desire to facilitate children's learning and a commitment to working in partnership with parents and liaising with outside agencies. This is an exciting opportunity where you can make a real difference.

Hours of work:                                  8.45am until 3.15pm – 5 days per week.

Salary:                                                Grade 1 £25,947 pro rata per annum
