Home Learning Reading

I have been delighted with the progress that the children have made with their reading. It is still really important that the children are reading as much as they can at home. It would be hugely beneficial for the children to be reading to an adult at least three times a week. Please could you ensure that the children bring their reading books into school every day, so they can access any opportunities to read or quiz? Thank you for your continued support with this.

Maths

  • Practise counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and 100s
  • Practise counting in 3s, 4s, 8s and 50s
  • Take part in any practical maths around the home, e.g. cooking, measuring and money
  • Adding and subtracting numbers using mental strategies, e.g. using their fingers to support
  • Home learning multiplication and division facts
  • Times Table Rock Stars

Outdoor learning

The class will be participating in outdoor learning each week. Please ensure they have outdoor shoes and a waterproof coat in school every day. This will continue to be on a Thursday afternoon. For outdoor learning, they will need waterproof trousers and wellies. This can be left on their peg all week.

PE

Our PE days this term remains on Thursdays and Fridays. The children can wear their PE kit to school on those days. Please can they also wear or bring a hoodie to wear in PE? If they are attending an after school sports club, they will need to bring in their PE kit to change into after school.

Parent consultations Year 3 parent consultations will be taking place on Monday 10th and Tuesday the 11th of March. Please see the email sent to you with a link to book onto a 10-minute slot on our online system. Details and further information will be posted on Class Dojo in due course.

Thank you for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to contact me via Class Dojo or my school email: twoodhall@stoke-climsland.cornwall.sch.uk

Kind regards
