Home Learning
Reading
I have been delighted with the progress that the children have made with their reading. It is still really important that the children are reading as much as they can at home. It would be hugely beneficial for the children to be reading to an adult at least three times a week. Please could you ensure that the children bring their reading books into school every day, so they can access any opportunities to read or quiz? Thank you for your continued support with this.
Maths
- Learning mental recall of doubles and halves of numbers to 20, e.g. 12 doubled is 24 and 12 halved is 6.
- Learning all number bonds for 100 using multiples of 5
- Learning their x2, x3, x4, x5, x8 multiplication tables and related division facts
- Take part in any practical maths around the home, e.g. cooking, measuring and money
Outdoor Learning
The class will be participating in outdoor learning each week. This will now take place on Friday afternoons. Please ensure they have outdoor shoes and a waterproof coat in school every day. For outdoor learning, they will need waterproof trousers and wellies. This can be left on their peg all week.
P.E
Our P.E days this term will also be moving to a Tuesday and Wednesday. The children can wear PE kit to school on those days. If they are attending an after school sports club, they will need to bring in their PE kit to change into after school.
Warmer Weather
In light of warmer weather, please could children wear sun-cream and a hat on the days where the sun makes an appearance!
Please don’t hesitate to email me or arrange an appointment to see me if you have any concerns about your child or their learning. My email address is twoodhall@stoke-climsland.cornwall.sch.uk or contact me on Class Dojo.
